The second venue of the Women’s Final Olympic Qualification has been named. Group D will take place in Tomakomai on Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido.

In this group host Japan, Germany, Austria and the top-seeded qualifier from the preliminary round will battle for first place and a ticket to the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic women’s ice hockey tournament from 9 to 12 February 2017.

The Hakucho Oji Ice Arena, home of the Asia League’s Oji Eagles, with a capacity for 4,015 fans will host the event. Tomakomai is located not far away from the island’s biggest city of Sapporo and only 22 kilometres from the largest airport, New Chitose Airport.

Group C of the Women’s Final Olympic Qualification will take place in Arosa with host Switzerland, Czech Republic, Denmark and the second qualifier from the preliminary-round.

The group winners of the Final Olympic Qualification will join the top-five teams from the 2016 IIHF Women’s World Ranking – USA, Canada, Finland, Russia and Sweden – and host Korea at the 2018 Olympic women’s ice hockey tournament.
